Nice one, sound mate

I know Popcorn has had more Delays than British rail (That's right, It has been that long since I wrote a blog I actually think that British Rail still exists) but we have made progress. Popcorn is now ready for upload online any day. In fact its been online for over 4 months to view by a select few. And if you weren't one of those few, tough! I mean never mind, there there, its okay! Good things come to those who wait and you have waited so patiently that we have a gift for you.

Okay enough waffling, now for some excuses. The reason Popcorn has been so long being uploaded is essentially due to the sound. We have had major issues with the sound from the get go. I could list them all here but it would be too boring and I don't have any desire to obtain Carpal tunnel syndrome. So i'll just keep it brief. Let down by the sound guy, recorded on shitty equipment, let down by promises made by someone who can could attempt to fix it and eventually we gave up. However we did have a slight saving grace recently when a man know only to me as Tom Cusack (cheers Tom) had a go at editing the sound. He has managed to clean some of the dialogue up as best possible, I mean there was obviously only so much that he could do, you can't polish a turd after all and the sound is shit to my ears

But anyway, I do think its decent enough now to get an online airing. Hopefully people will realize when they watch this that it was never meant to be a broadcast standard sitcom. We didn't have the money or time for that. We did however want to give a glimpse into the idea of what Popcorn could be like if it were given a chance

And I definitely think that we have suceeded in that

BBC Radio merseyside.....

I had a great time chatting with Tony Snell, of Radio Merseyside fame on the morning of the Pocorn premiere

Tony Ivited us on to chat about old cinemas, the pearl and dean theme music and all things Popcorn. Tony is a really nice guy and was great both on and off air. I would like to point out that I was a bit rushed and basically just stuck in front of a microphone, hence me talking about a million miles an hour.

But my mega fast talking aside, I think its a pretty good interview, and was nice to get a little more exposure throughout Merseyside and some more publicity for the Plaza

you can listen to the interview here

Guess who's back...

I know, I know

after a disgustingly long time without blogging I am finally back. I could make all the usual excuses, the dog ate my homework/I was abducted by aliens/I was executing Bin Laden etc. The truth is I have been Lazy. But don't hold that against me, just take pity on me and be glad that YOU are not as lazy as me

Okay, so news in the world of Popcorn. We are working towards a screening in Liverpool, this should be a great event which all the cast and everyone involved is really looking forward to. It's taking place at the Plaza in Crosby, the place where we filmed it all. Which I think is quite a quirky and interesting way to view Popcorn, kind of like going to a Star Wars screening in the Death Star (I'm sure they would of had some sort of screening room, I mean what else would Darth Vader do in his down time if it wasn't watching re-runs of friends whilst perfecting his Joey impression)

I think people will really enjoy being able to see the sitcom in the cinema where it was filmed. All the cast will be there, you will be able to see the kiosk and foyer which features in the episode, and it will be screened in the main cinema. All we need is some jelly and ice cream and we have ourselves a party

Anyway, I digress. I have a couple of weeks off to complete all the arrangements for this screening, and i will post all the details in the next few days. Please stay with us, tell all your friends and lets make this premiere something to remembers

Last scene filmed

Finally...

Photobucket

We have got the last scene filmed. Due to all sorts of Issues including time, weather and bad luck we had one remaining scene to film from the middle of the pilot episode, and yesterday we managed to get it all done

We set of early and made it to the Plaza in Crosby in decent time. The actors Helen and Jay turned up and pretty much as soon as we started filming the heavens opened. Of course i didnt have a rain cover for the camera, so ended up placing my jacket over the camera as I got soaked

Really happy with the results though, its one of my favourite scenes in the episode, both the actors are great in it and despite it being a very small scene (just four lines) i think it was worth getting it done

back to editing,
